1 Corinthians 3:4-9

"For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not mere men?

What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building."

PRAISING GOD THIS MONTH FOR ONE YEAR OF SERVICE IN GUANACASTE!!

It seems hard to believe that we’ve lived one year in Villarreal, Guanacaste. We are not sure quite how to explain all that God has taught us and shown us throughout this year. One thing is for sure– He is not finished teaching us and He has brought us here for a true time of learning and discipleship. We are so blessed to have the privilege to sit under Pastor Phil’s teaching every Sunday. The hunger and thirst for God’s Word is ever present in our lives. We feel the hunger and thirst grow as we desire to learn more. This has caused us to study the Word, pray, and ask question upon question as we ask the Holy Spirit to lead us. It is discipleship in a whole new way that we have never before experienced. Praise God with us for a healthy church where we are being taught to study the Word of God verse by verse. We have seen God take us to a new level as we learn what ’loving your neighbor’ is all about. We thank you for praying for Ronny, who, Praise God, is now sober again. Please continue to pray for him and others like him struggling to break free from the bondage of sin.

Potter’s Field Kids (Las Manos del Alfarero)
We are excited to share that we’ve begun the initial Potter’s Field Kids program. We’ve started with 23 children and all we can say is this is going to be one awesome adventure! The kids are excited, eager to learn, and such a joy to be with. It is with great joy that we partner with Potter’s Field Ministries here in Costa Rica. We are initially providing discipleship, tutoring and a hot meal for each child. Bible Club has started off with a bang. We anticipated ending 2010 with about 45 kids weekly and are excited to have met that goal in the first 3 weeks! During Bible Club, the children receive Bible teaching, songs, games and also a meal. Please pray for us as we work to make changes and improvements over these next few months and prepare for the full program in February 2011. If you’d like to receive our updates, please contact us and we’ll add you to our list or check our website and blog for monthly and weekly updates as well as profiles of kids in PFK. If you’d like to pray for a specific child or become more involved in this ministry, please contact us. For more about PFK go to www.pottersfield.org. Thank you for praying!

Please pray for us as we become more and more aware of our weaknesses, and in that, discover how very great is our need for Jesus. Just when we thought we had the hang of things, He has called us to a ministry where we must rely on Him for it all. Everything is new and different, but completely wonderful. Pray against illness and for good health in our family. We’ve had a run of illnesses and infections lately and humbly ask for your prayers. Pray for each child in PFK to know Christ and live for Him, for protection from abuse, and for basic needs to be met. Please pray for La Capilla del Calvario Villarreal and for the ministry in San José.
We are thankful for a wonderful visit with Matt’s parents last month!
