1 Corinthians 3:4-9

"For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not mere men?

What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building."

Random thoughts

Due to this thing called LIFE, this blog is being painfully neglected...truly sorry for that but rejoice in the FULL life the Lord has given me which has kept me from meeting YOU here!

However, with the few minutes I have while eating my breakfast, I thought I'd share a few random thoughts from the past few days...

We welcomed three new interns last week. Working with college-aged young adults is new for Matt and I, but the Lord is showing us the great opportunity we have to pour into their lives. We are loving it.

Not so much the constant reminder it is of the age difference, though. With the last girls, the standing joke was to add the comment "oh yeah, my mom has that/does that/says that too!" HAHAHAHAHA- loads of laughter would follow...as I realized more and more that I'm no longer in my twenties! (WHERE did those years go?) In fact, we are inching closer and closer to our...ehhh....forties...gasp!!!

uh-hem...

Yeahhhhh...

So, despite the ever-increasing knowledge that we are increasingly widening the gap between the present and our youth...we LOVE ministering to and serving with these young adults!

I met with the girls this week for discipleship and was talking with them about journaling. I offered them a 'tablet' to use for their journaling. I watched Caitie's expression of surprise and gratitude and Megan's confusion and became perplexed. 'What did I say?' I thought to myself...

It seems generation gap strikes again.

Megan was brave enough to ask, 'What's a tablet?'

Hahahahahaha! I'm refering to a 'notebook' ya know...cuaderno...and they are thinking 'tablet' like iPad tablet...

No wonder Caitie perked up at that bit of info...she's thinkin' SCORE! on the Costa Rican internship where the church has extra 'tablets' just laying around...hahaha- NO! not so much!

Fun times for me as I realize how out of touch I am with technology and all that jazz... :)

It was quite the laugh for all of us!

Today, Isabelle comes into the kitchen all sweet, looking at me and says,

'Mom, you know that one day you're gonna be a grandma!'

'Oh really?' I say. 'How do you now that/'

'God told me so! he's told me many times. I ask him if one day I'll be a mother and he tells me 'Yes and that he has big plans for me!'

Yes, he does, Sis. Yes, he does!

_______

Well, gotta run...I've gotten up for other things about 15 times while trying to write this post...

such is life.

BLESSED, it is!

Have a great Saturday!

I awake and the sun has not yet yet risen.

But today, the SON has RISEN!!!

Praise Jesus for His life, death, and resurrection.

"I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead." Philippians 3:10

Today, we celebrate Christ's resurrection at 6:00 am on Playa Tamarindo. The invitation is open for all to attend and breakfast is served afterwards.

Today, many will publically declare their faith in Jesus. Many will walk down to the ocean and testify that they are not ashamed of the gospel and will follow Jesus from here on out!

Our daughter, Audrey, will be one who does this today!

Praise Jesus with us today for the new life we have in him! Praise God with us that through the death of his son "many sons" are brought to glory. (Hebrews 2:10)

Praise Jesus that He is victorious over death!

He is Risen! Risen indeed!
